Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of ICC T20 World Cup, BCCI To Announce Replacement Soon

Jasprit Bumrah was on Monday officially ruled out of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia. He had been earlier ruled out of the ongoing T20I series due to a back injury.

The fast bowler, who had missed the Asia Cup, had played two T20Is against Australia last month. BCCI informed that it will announce his replacement soon.

India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the T20 World Cup on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Both teams had met during the tournament last year, with Pakistan winning the match by 10 wickets. India will take on South Africa in the third T20I of the three-match series.

Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar were named as reserve players. Additionally, the BCCI had named Mohammed Siraj as Bumrah's replacement for the ongoing series against South Africa.

However the pacer did not feature in the two matches that has been played and it will be interesting to see if he is considered for the final encounter, which is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.

Now going into the World Cup it'll be interesting to see how India line-up their pace department. The Men In Blue will kick-off their campaign against arch rivals Pakistan on October 23.
